Teen Chullay is one of the bird watching places and a unique adventure holiday spot in east Sikkim that combines an exciting bird watching tour. It is about 138 km away from NJP/Bagdogra Airport at an elevation of 2,250 meters and an hour’s drive from Gangtok. Golay Tar is about 3 to 4 hours walk and also the Teen chulay is one of popular day hiking tourist spot around Gangtok after Golay Tar the trail towards to Teen chullay is around 3 to 4 hours walk the trail is a gradual ascend to reach Teen chullay and same way back gradually descend to road head, then drive to Gangtok city. This trek is a famous day hike around Gangtok and still, there aren’t too many people on the trail on most days. The trail ascends steeply through the dense forest that is full of magnolia, Rhododendron, and Bamboos wild orchid apart from other trees and plants. If you are lucky you will be able to see wild animals as the trek trail snakes through the home for the wild animals like Red Panda, Himalayan Thar, Summer Deer, Barking Deer and many more. Before Teen chullay, you will get nice rest spot inside the deep ancient forest. Teen chullay offers you 90-degree views of the third highest peak of the world Mount Khangchendzonga, 8585 meters, apart from snow-capped mountains like mt. The main occupation of the Pangthang people is agriculture, they mainly produce Potatoes, cabbage and green peas as well as working as drivers during the months of summer. In the winter months of January and February, this village regularly receives snowfall.

Bulbuly and Fambonglho Wild Life Sanctuary are one of the best birding places in west Sikkim, not very far from Gangtok. Birding in Ravangla Maenam Hill south sikkim:
Maenam Hill, it is located near Ravangla top, on a hill at an elevation of 3,320 meters. It is one of best short day hike tourist spots from Ravangla and about 4 to 5 hours walk where you can get a good experience of the higher Himalaya from Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan ranges. The Maenam Hills offer a panoramic view of the mountains to the tourists. From the hilltop, you will get good imposing views of the lush green landscape and majestic views of snow-capped mountains. Frey’s Peak 5850 meters, Kokthang peak 6,150 meters, Kumbakarna 7,710 meters, Rathong 6,679 meters, Karbu S 7,317 meters, Kabru N 7,338 meters, Kabru Dome 6,660meters, Talong 7,350 meters, Kangchenjunga. 8,585 meters, Pandim 6,691 Meters, Tenzingkhang 6,010 Meters, Jopuno 5,930 Meters, Narsing 5,825 Meters, Sinoulchu 6,880 Meters, are all visible from here. On a clear day, it is possible to get a glimpse of the plains of Bengal spanning across Kalimpong and Darjeeling hills in the South and right across the Indo-China border towards the North.
The Maenam major part has been declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary it is a treasure house of Medicine as the region is rich in an assortment of varieties of Birds and Medicinal plants and herbs. The sanctuary at an elevation of 3,320meters from above sea level, has shelters for Red Panda, Goral, Serow, Barking Deer, Marbled-Cat, Leopard-Cat, Civet-Cats, and many species of birds like Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snowcock, Hill Partridge, Rufous-throated Partridge, Chestnut-breasted Partridge, Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, Himalayan Monel, Kalij Pheasant, Black Necked Grebe, Speckled Wood Pigeon, Migrant Ducks, Blue Winged Scaly, Laughing Thrush, Emerald Cuckoo, Babbler, Scaly Laughing thrush, Red Faced, Scaly-breasted, Wren-Babbler and many other animals of the temperate forest. This sanctuary is famous for trekking and its rich biodiversity. The altitude ranges between 2,320 meters. Maenam Hill used to be the place of meditation for a large number of monks. There is a historical Buddhist Monastery called Maenam Gumpa on the top ridge of the sanctuary. Maenam Gumpa was established in 1969. Apart from, there is a statue of Lord Shiva, which is worshipped by the local people it is considered a sacred place.
